Canada’s National
Dispatcher of the Year Award Goes to Trimac Dispatcher
Sarnia’s Ben O’Hara of
Trimac Transportation Services Inc. Honoured
(Toronto, April 17, 2008) -- Mr. Ben O’Hara of
Trimac Transportation Services was named the Canadian Trucking Alliance - Shaw
Tracking Dispatcher of the Year for 2007. Mr. O’Hara is a dispatcher based
in Sarnia, ON with Trimac Transportation Services Inc.
The award was presented this morning at Canada’s
national truck show, Truck World (International Centre, Toronto).
The award, sponsored by Shaw Tracking, goes to a dispatcher who has demonstrated a commitment to customer service, safety, driver well being, courtesy, teamwork, problem solving and community service/volunteer work. Mr. O’Hara was selected from provincial dispatchers of the year from across the country. “Dispatchers play a vital role in road
safety,” says David Bradley, CEO of the Canadian Trucking Alliance.
“It is an honour to recognize a dispatcher who is highly regarded by both
the drivers he dispatches and the company’s
customers.”

National Dispatcher of the Year, Ben O’Hara,” said Mike
Ham, Vice President Business Services, Shaw Tracking. “The most
significant form of recognition is that of your peers and your customers: which
is what this award is all about”.
Mr. O’Hara, has been a dispatcher for 17 years
and has worked at Trimac Transportation Services Inc. (Sarnia branch) for six
years. He is responsible for 33 owner-operators every day and dispatches trucks
carrying liquid bulk products to destinations across North
America.
He was selected to receive the award because of his
outstanding customer service skills and his exceptional ability to work
cooperatively with branch’s owner-operators. To qualify for the award, the
nomination application must be accompanied by letters of recommendation from the
company’s customers, as well as drivers and dispatchers. The selection
panel was made up of individuals from across the country with expertise in the
field of dispatch.
The father of two sons resides in Oil Springs,
Ontario. He is committed to his community and serves as a volunteer fire fighter
in that community.
At this morning’s ceremony, Mr. O’Hara was
presented with a keepsake plaque and a cash award.
