Antique Truck Exhibit at
80th Ontario Trucking Association Convention
(Toronto: Nov. 15, 2006) -- In celebration of its
80th anniversary the Ontario Trucking Association will host a special
display of antique trucks at its annual convention (Nov. 16 and 17, Toronto
Congress Centre, 650 Dixon Road, Toronto.)
A total of eight trucks representing decades from the
1920s through to the 1970s will be displayed on the convention show floor. The
vehicles have been supplied by OTA member companies.
The OTA convention is open to registered delegates
only. The convention (including the antique truck exhibit) is open to members
of the working press who wish to cover the event.

The two-day OTA convention, the
largest of its kind in Canada, is the place where industry leaders meet to
discuss important industry issues.
This year the industry celebrates 80
years of history with a number of special happenings including the unveiling of
a history book “Trucking & Triumphs – 80 Years of the Ontario
Trucking Association and a display of antique trucks on the convention
floor.

The Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) is a
business association representing motor carriers operating into, out of and
within Ontario. The trucking industry is one of Ontario’s largest
employers. Trucks haul 90% of all consumer products and foodstuffs produced and
consumed in the province and 80% of Ontario’s trade with the United
States. Founded in 1926, the association’s membership comprises trucking
companies of all sizes, shipping all types of commodities, from all regions of
North America. OTA is a member of the Canadian Trucking Alliance. The Globe
& Mail has stated that “OTA and CTA have been among the most
successful lobbyists in the land.”
